Dear Friends, Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the US, a day when we eat turkey, watch football and remember the things in life that we are grateful for. But, like any holiday in any part of the world, it also a tradition. My parents and their parents celebrated Thanksgiving as do my children and, I expect, their children will as well. It is a common experience, as are all traditions, that become a part of who we are. Like speaking English or drinking coffee in the morning we don't really think that having a Thanksgiving Day in late November is unusual - although most people in the world don't experience it. On the contrary, the existence of our annual Thanksgiving traditions, the pumpkin pie and the cranberry sauce, is a reassuring reminder that there are some constant things that we can depend on in this ever- changing world.
