Dance Lessons:

Q: Can someone with no previous dance experience take part in this program?
A: Yes. There are beginners’ lessons available as well and participants don’t need prior experience.

Q: Can someone who does not speak English well still participate?
A: Yes. We have many participants who speak little or no English. Dance is an international language that can be understood without words.

Optional English/Voice Lessons:

Q: Do participants have to have had singing experience to take voice lessons?
A: No. They don’t need prior experience.

Q: What is a typical English and Voice lesson schedule like for someone taking the dance program?
A: Semi-private English lessons or private voice lessons at Millennium are offered in sets of five 60-minute lessons. We would set up 5 lessons during the daytime between Tuesday and Friday with a possibility of taking multiple lessons in any one day. Participants can take as many sessions of voice lessons as they wish. Most popular dance classes are in the evening.

Q: Is it possible to participate in the Dance program for longer than 3 months?
A: Yes. However, in order to do so, participants will need to take English classes on a full-time basis and acquire an F-Visa (Student Visa). They will be issued an I-20 form after application.

On arrival date:

Q: Are there additional fees if my client arrives on the weekend instead of on Monday as scheduled?
A: Yes. If the arrival is on the weekend or the arrival time is not during the regular business hours of 9a.m.- 5p.m., there will be an additional fee of $75 charged.

Q: What happens if Monday is a holiday?
A: Participants must arrive on the following business day or there will be an additional charge. Monday holidays in 2005 are as follows: 5/30/05, 7/4/05, 9/5/05. Therefore, arrivals need to be on: 5/31/05, 7/5/05, and 9/6/05, respectively.

Q: This is my client’s first time going abroad. How can EDI assist?
A: Even if your clients don’t have a high level of English skill, there should be no problem taking dance lessons and living in America. If they have any questions or need information, they can always contact EDI by calling our toll-free number. In case of emergency, we have a local coordinator in Los Angeles to assist your students.

Q: Is there an orientation?
A: Program participants receive orientation materials and are required to contact EDI by phone upon arrival. EDI staff will make sure of their safe arrival and answer their questions. Upon arrival at the dormitory, there will be a brief orientation regarding the use of dormitories. EDI can assist participants by phone anytime during regular business hours.

Commuting to Millennium:

Q: How can participants get to Millennium?
A: EDI will provide them a map and detailed directions to Millennium and will answer any questions they have by phone.
